Description
IL-10 is a pleiotropic anti-inflammatory cytokine central to immune homeostasis, and this tag-free recombinant form covering the full mature sequence (residues 19–178) preserves native homodimer assembly critical for faithful STAT3 signaling studies. In MC/9-2 cell proliferation assays, the protein demonstrates an ED50 below 1 ng/mL—corresponding to a specific activity exceeding 1.0 × 10⁶ IU/mg—which provides a suitable basis for dose-dependent functional work including T-cell suppression assays, macrophage polarization experiments, and JAK/STAT pathway activation studies. Endotoxin levels below 1.0 EU/μg minimize LPS-driven artifacts that would otherwise confound cytokine-specific readouts in primary immune cell cultures, making this preparation appropriate for in vivo inflammation models and as a quantitative reference standard in ELISA-based cytokine detection. Produced in *E. coli* at greater than 95% purity by SDS-PAGE, this protein also supports antibody validation workflows including immunogen use and positive control applications in Western blot.
