Description
Neuritin (NRN1) is a GPI-anchored neurotrophic factor that promotes neurite outgrowth and synaptic plasticity, making it a key target in neuronal survival and differentiation research. This tag-free recombinant human NRN1 fragment (residues 28–115) encompasses the mature secreted domain and demonstrates robust biological potency, with an ED50 below 25 ng/mL in a rat C6 cell proliferation assay, corresponding to a specific activity exceeding 4.0 × 10⁴ IU/mg. The E. coli expression system provides a non-glycosylated protein suitable for receptor-ligand binding studies via SPR or ELISA, where the absence of variable glycan modifications supports more reproducible quantitative readouts. Purity above 97% by SDS-PAGE combined with endotoxin levels below 1.0 EU/μg satisfies the criteria typical for cell-based proliferation and survival assays, neuronal differentiation studies, and use as a calibration standard in antibody characterization workflows.
