Description
IGFBP5 modulates IGF signaling by sequestering IGF ligands, making it a critical regulator of cell proliferation and survival pathways in cancer biology. This tag-free recombinant human IGFBP5 (21–272aa, full-length mature protein) demonstrates potent inhibitory activity against IGF-II-induced MCF-7 cell proliferation, with an ED50 below 0.4 μg/ml and a specific activity exceeding 2,500 IU/mg in the presence of 15 ng/ml rHuIGF-II — validated performance that supports use in functional cell-based proliferation assays, IGF/IGFBP binding studies, and mechanistic investigations of IGF axis signaling in tumor models. Expressed in *E. coli* to yield a non-glycosylated form suitable for structural and biochemical studies, this protein provides a suitable basis for dose-response experiments, ligand competition assays, and as a quantitative assay standard.
