Description
IGF2 plays a central role in mitogenic signaling through the IGF1R and insulin receptor isoform A, making it a key target in cancer biology and metabolic research. This tag-free recombinant human IGF2 encompasses the full mature sequence (residues 25–91) and demonstrates strong biological potency, with an ED50 below 2 ng/mL in serum-free MCF-7 proliferation assays, corresponding to a specific activity exceeding 5.0 × 10⁵ IU/mg — providing a reliable standard for cell proliferation and survival studies, receptor-ligand binding and competition assays via SPR or ELISA, and in vivo tumor biology models. Because mature IGF2 lacks glycosylation sites critical to function, E. coli expression yields a properly folded protein without the post-translational variability sometimes introduced by mammalian systems. Purity exceeding 98% by SDS-PAGE combined with endotoxin levels below 1.0 EU/μg satisfies the criteria typical for serum-free cell-based assays and antibody characterization workflows.
