Description

CXCL17, also known as VEGF coregulated chemokine 1, plays a distinctive role in mucosal immunity and angiogenesis-linked chemotaxis, making it a valuable tool for dissecting crosstalk between immune cell recruitment and vascular signaling. This tag-free recombinant human CXCL17 encompasses the full-length mature sequence (22–119 aa) expressed in *E. coli* and demonstrates an ED50 of less than 5.0 μg/ml for inducing VEGF expression in murine endothelial cells, corresponding to a specific activity exceeding 200 IU/mg — data that supports use in chemotaxis and migration assays, VEGF-dependent signaling pathway studies, and cell-based functional assays examining endothelial activation or macrophage recruitment. Endotoxin levels below 1.0 EU/μg minimize LPS-driven artifacts in sensitive immune cell experiments and in vivo inflammation models, while purity above 96% by SDS-PAGE provides a suitable basis for deployment as a reference standard in cytokine detection assays or as a reliable antigen for antibody development and ELISA validation.

Target Background

Function(From Uniprot)
Chemokine that acts as chemoattractant for monocytes, macrophages and dendritic cells. Plays a role in angiogenesis and possibly in the development of tumors. Acts as an anti-inflammatory in the stomach. May play a role in the innate defense against infections. Activates the C-X-C chemokine receptor GPR35 to induce a rapid and transient rise in the level of intracellular calcium ions.; seems exhibit much higher chemoattractant potency on monocytes and macrophages than 6-Cys CXCL17.

  5. CXCL17 production correlated with adverse immune infiltration and might be an important target for anti-HCC therapies. PMID:25303284
  6. We conclude that CXCL17 is an antimicrobial mucosal chemokine that may play a role in the pathogenesis of interstitial lung diseases PMID:22611239
  7. these results suggest that VCC-1 is involved in cisplatin-induced apoptosis of HepG2 cells, and also provides some evidence for VCC-1 as a potential cellular target for chemotherapy. PMID:22425983
