Description
CCL11 (eotaxin) is a potent eosinophil-selective chemokine that signals through CCR3 to drive allergic inflammation, making validated chemotaxis activity essential for meaningful in vitro and in vivo studies. This tag-free recombinant human CCL11, encompassing the full-length mature sequence (residues 24–97), induces directed migration of primary human peripheral blood eosinophils at concentrations of 0.1–10.0 ng/ml, providing a reliable basis for Transwell chemotaxis assays, CCR3 signaling pathway analyses including MAPK and NF-κB activation, and in vivo models of allergic airway inflammation. Endotoxin levels below 1.0 EU/μg minimize LPS-driven artifacts that can confound eosinophil activation readouts, while purity exceeding 97% by SDS-PAGE supports use as a reference standard in eotaxin detection ELISAs or as a positive control for antibody validation in immunoassays. The E. coli-derived, non-glycosylated format aligns with standards expected in functional studies where consistent lot-to-lot potency is prioritized.
