Description

CCL14 (HCC-1) is among the most abundant chemokines in human plasma, yet its truncated active form (residues 22–93) drives potent monocyte chemotaxis that the full-length protein lacks, making sequence fidelity of this processed variant critical for meaningful functional data. This tag-free recombinant human CCL14 elicits monocyte migration at 5–20 ng/ml in chemotaxis bioassays, providing a suitable basis for Transwell migration studies, CCR1/CCR5 receptor activation experiments, and downstream MAPK or NF-κB signaling pathway analyses. Endotoxin levels below 1.0 EU/μg minimize LPS-driven artifacts that commonly confound monocyte and macrophage functional readouts, supporting use in primary immune cell assays and in vivo inflammation models where spurious innate immune activation would compromise interpretation. Purity exceeding 96% by SDS-PAGE, combined with this stringent endotoxin profile, also satisfies the criteria typical for ELISA standard curves and antibody validation workflows requiring a reliable positive control.

Target Background

Function(From Uniprot)
Has weak activities on human monocytes and acts via receptors that also recognize MIP-1 alpha. It induces intracellular Ca(2+) changes and enzyme release, but no chemotaxis, at concentrations of 100-1,000 nM, and is inactive on T-lymphocytes, neutrophils, and eosinophil leukocytes. Enhances the proliferation of CD34 myeloid progenitor cells. The processed form HCC-1(9-74) is a chemotactic factor that attracts monocytes, eosinophils, and T-cells and is a ligand for CCR1, CCR3 and CCR5.
