SORT1

SORT1, or sorting protein 1, alias Sortilin, NT3, Gp95, NTR3, LDLCQ6, is a transmembrane protein belonging to the VPS10-related sortilin protein family.
SORT1 functions in multiple subcellular regions, including the Golgi, endosomes, endoplasmic reticulum, and cell membranes, and its main function is to act as a sorting receptor involved in protein transport and metabolism. SORT1 can transport proteins from the Golgi to lysosomes and endosomes through various pathways and has been associated with the internalization and translocation of a variety of proteins.
SORT1 expression levels may affect the risk of myocardial infarction and has been associated with a variety of diseases, including lipid metabolism disorders, certain types of cancer, and neurodegenerative diseases. SORT1 is biologically important in regulating cholesterol metabolism, promoting neuronal apoptosis, and possibly influencing insulin response.

IHC image of CSB-PA859102LA01HU diluted at 1:600 and staining in paraffin-embedded human endometrial cancer performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4°C overnight. The primary is detected by a biotinylated secondary antibody and visualized using an HRP conjugated SP system.
