RORC

The gene RORC encodes the Retinoic acid-related orphan receptor gamma protein. It is also commonly known as RORγ. RORC plays a crucial role in the development and function of immune cells. It regulates the differentiation of Th17 cells by binding to specific DNA sequences and modulating gene expression. This process is involved in the JAK - STAT signaling pathway.
Dysregulation of RORC is associated with autoimmune diseases such as multiple sclerosis and psoriasis. In drug development, RORC inhibitors are being investigated as potential therapies to target the over - active immune responses mediated by RORC, aiming to provide new treatment options for these autoimmune disorders.
