NOTCH2

The protein corresponding to the gene NOTCH2 is Notch receptor 2. It is also commonly known as TAN2. Notch2 is a transmembrane receptor involved in a highly conserved signaling pathway, the Notch signaling pathway. This pathway plays a crucial role in cell - fate determination, cell proliferation, and apoptosis.
Aberrant activation of the Notch2 signaling pathway has been associated with various diseases, such as Alagille syndrome and some types of cancers. Regarding drug development, there are ongoing efforts to design inhibitors targeting the Notch2 pathway. These inhibitors aim to block abnormal signaling and treat the related diseases.
