IL25

IL25, interleukin 25, alias IL-17E, interleukin17E. IL25 is produced by a variety of cells, including activated Th2 cells, mast cells, and others. Its mechanism of action is mainly through binding to IL-17BR receptor and activating downstream signaling pathways, including the activation of NF-κB, which in turn promotes the production of cytokines such as IL-8.
IL25 plays a unique role in suppressing inflammatory responses and promoting type II immune responses by inducing the expression of cytokine genes in a variety of tissues, increasing the expression of IL-4, IL-5, and IL-10 mRNA in the liver, lung, and kidney, and inducing the expression of neutrophil-specific leukocyte chemokine GRO-α mRNA. IL25 is also involved in the regulation of intestinal immunity, which has been associated with gastrointestinal-related chronic inflammatory responses and plays a role in some intrinsic and acquired immune cells, influencing the differentiation and function of eosinophils, among others.
