IL23R

IL23R (Interleukin 23 Receptor), also known as IL 23R, IL-23 receptor, IL-23R, IL23 Receptor, or Il23r, is a protein encoded by the IL23R gene. It belongs to the family of type I cytokine receptors and is primarily expressed in immune system cells such as T cells and NK cells. The mechanism of action of IL23R involves binding to its ligand IL-23, which then activates the JAK2/STAT3 signaling pathway, promoting the differentiation and activation of Th17 cells and participating in the regulation of immune responses and inflammatory reactions.IL23R is involved in the activation and regulation of various immune cells, especially in the differentiation of Th17 cells and the development of autoimmune diseases.

Dysfunctions of IL23R are associated with various diseases, including inflammatory bowel disease, Crohn's disease, psoriasis, ankylosing spondylitis, and ulcerative colitis. Therefore, IL23R is a potential target in immunological research and the treatment of related diseases. Studies have shown that IL-23-mediated signaling plays a significant role in the pathogenesis of inflammatory bowel disease, Crohn's disease, and ulcerative colitis, and IL-23-driven Th17 cells are critical in inflammation.
