IL22RA1

IL22RA1, the interleukin 22 receptor α1, is a protein encoded by the IL-22RA1 gene. It is part of the IL-22 receptor complex, which includes the β chain shared with IL-10Rβ, forming a high-affinity receptor for IL-22. IL-22RA1 activates the JAK/STAT signaling pathway upon IL-22 binding, modulating cell proliferation and apoptosis resistance. It is primarily found in the pancreas, liver, small intestine, colon, and kidney, where it regulates epithelial cell migration, hepatocyte protection, and cell repair in the respiratory and gastrointestinal tracts. IL-22RA1 also plays a role in bacterial defense and inflammatory disease pathogenesis, making it a potential target for research and treatment of related conditions.
