ABL1

ABL1, a non-receptor tyrosine kinase encoded by the ABL1 gene, is widely expressed in various cells, particularly in hematopoietic cells. It regulates cellular processes such as signaling, cycle control, differentiation, and apoptosis by phosphorylating substrate proteins. ABL1's abnormal activation is linked to cancer development, especially Philadelphia chromosome-positive chronic myeloid leukemia, which results from the fusion of the ABL1 and BCR genes, creating a constitutively active kinase. This fusion protein drives uncontrolled cell proliferation, and ABL1 is the target of therapies like Imatinib, used to treat CML and other ABL1-related cancers by inhibiting its kinase activity.

IHC image of CSB-PA04355A0Rb diluted at 1:1200 and staining in paraffin-embedded human colon cancer performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4°C overnight. The primary is detected by a biotinylated secondary antibody and visualized using an HRP conjugated SP system.
