Description
Erythropoietin drives red blood cell production by binding the EPO receptor on erythroid progenitors, and recombinant forms with authentic glycosylation are essential for assays that depend on receptor engagement and downstream signaling. This mammalian-expressed protein, spanning the full mature sequence (aa 28–193), demonstrates dose-dependent proliferation of TF-1 cells with an ED50 of 0.35–0.71 ng/mL, confirming receptor-mediated bioactivity suitable for cell survival assays and hematopoietic differentiation studies. The same preparation binds an anti-EPO recombinant antibody in functional ELISA with an EC50 of 0.44–0.55 ng/mL, supporting its use in receptor-ligand competition assays, antibody characterization panels, and as a quantitative ELISA standard. Purity exceeding 90% by SDS-PAGE and endotoxin below 1.0 EU/μg align with standards expected in sensitive proliferation and binding experiments where contaminants can confound dose-response curves.
