The LCN2 monoclonal antibody was developed through a process that involved immunizing mice with recombinant human LCN2 protein, harvesting B cells from the mouse spleen, and fusing them with myeloma cells to create hybridomas. The hybridomas were then screened and cultured to identify and select those that produced the LCN2 antibody. The selected hybridomas were subsequently cultured to obtain the LCN2 monoclonal antibody, which was purified using protein G affinity chromatography to get a purity of over 95%. This LCN2 antibody is capable of specifically binding to human LCN2 protein and can be utilized for ELISA, WB, and IHC applications.
LCN2 protein mainly functions to regulate the cellular uptake and metabolism of iron. It is also involved in the transport of small hydrophobic molecules like fatty acids, retinoids, and steroids. It plays a role in the modulation of cellular differentiation, apoptosis, and oxidative stress.
